Various flights are scheduled between Milan and Santo Domingo, capital of the Dominican Republic. Air Europe flies daily, as well as Iberia. After takeoff from or Milan Linate Airport (LIN) or from Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), both airlines fly first to Madrid, before crossing the Atlantic Ocean to Las Americas, Santo Domingo International Airport (SDQ), only 14 miles away from the interesting heritage of the capital. Air France will carry the Italian passengers first to Paris before heading to Santo Domingo. Most visitors to SANTO DOMINGO understandably make a beeline for the Zona Colonial, Santo Domingo's large, substantially intact colonial district, home to dozens of wonderful old buildings and a dramatic setting right on the river.
